Are you suffering silently from a past abortion?
Statistically almost one out of two women have chosen to have abortion(s). After all, it is a woman’s right. At the time, they thought they had all the right reasons and that it would be the best thing for their future.
The truth is that all the right reasons can’t stand up to the reality of abortion….. a child looses its life…..and a mother looses her child. Scars are left that run deep and the pain is suppressed because the guilt and the shame are so great.
....Statistically 43% of women chose to have abortions.
There is Hope!... Fear of judgment from others is strong so it becomes a closely held secret that is guarded carefully. . To cope with the pain many turn to drugs, alcohol, bad relationships, or become workaholics. But then there are the triggers…. those events or situations that invoke thoughts of the aborted baby. Perhaps it is the anniversary date of the abortion, or the anticipated due date of the baby, or going to your friends baby shower, or just going to the doctor for your regular check up. Questions reoccur that don’t have answers. Would it have been a boy or a girl? What would he/she look like? What would their personality be like?
If these statements sound familiar, you could be experiencing Post Abortion Stress (PAS). Post abortion stress describes the need to process all the emotions following abortion…regret, guilt, shame, anger, depression, and grief. Allowing yourself to grieve may even be a difficult concept especially since it was your choice.
